A massive dust storm swept across parts of Arizona yesterday, including downtown Phoenix. Known as haboobs, the giant clouds of blowing dust are common in the region during the summer. Yesterday's haboob reportedly generated 50 mph winds at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and knocked out power to roughly 9,000 homes.
