This stunning time-lapse video was created with images captured in Huckleberry Knob and Salvo, N.C. Photographer Daniel Lowe explains how he achieved the lingering star trails effect:
These scenes are created by stacking a sequence of long-exposure, high-resolution digital photographs in Adobe After Effects and allowing each photograph to linger on the screen for a short duration of time before fading.
Happily, the images aren't accompanied by the kind of over-the-top Wagnerian soundtrack that overwhelms so many time-lapse videos these days. This is the right way to go.
