Residents of New York and New Jersey struggle through the rain and snow

A nor'easter blustered into New York and New Jersey on Wednesday with rain and wet snow, plunging homes right back into darkness, stopping commuter trains again and inflicting another round of misery after Superstorm Sandy's blow more than a week ago.

At left, the remains of a mini-golf course destroyed by Superstorm Sandy is seen at the boardwalk in Point Pleasnt Beach, N.J., Thursday morning.

Generac is sending many Home Standby Generators to Sandy areas: HOWEVER, you MUST also have a concrete slab on which to install the Generator: Problem Solved:Google: "Americast Pad"
Key Component for installing a Generator is a solid concrete base to support and balance the unit. Pouring in place average cost is $400.00 plus time, effort and mess. Google: "Americast Pad" for a PreCast Pad for less than $300 delivered in US. Pad weight is 200lbs. Specifically Engineered and designed to support all sizes and models of generators: 8-150kw.

I keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. It is a very unique distressing experience you all are having to experience. My mother use to tell me stories of hardships like these during the war years in Europe. Be encouraged that time will improve these circumstances. During war hope is very hard to hold onto when you have to worry about constant bombing starvation and illness. People care about you and it will get better .

i'm freezing. It's sleeting/snowing. The wind is blowing hard and a tree just snapped. We still have power. I am seriously considering a standby generator as a Thanksgiving present to myself.
