Photos: Extreme Flooding in Venice, Italy

Heavy rain and high waters have inundated 'the Floating City'

People sit at the table of a bar in a flooded St. Mark's Square in Venice, Italy, on Sunday, Nov. 11.

High tides have flooded Venice, leading Venetians and tourists to don high boots and use wooden walkways to cross St. Mark's Square and other areas now underwater. Flooding is common this time of year, and Sunday's peak of 58.66 inches was below the 63 inches recorded four years ago in the worst flooding in decades.
