Shortly after Superstorm Sandy left several New York and New Jersey transit stations underwater, the Port Authority released the video. The footage, captured by surveillance cameras at both the Hoboken, World Trade Center and Exchange Place stations, shows just how dramatic the flooding was.

If a tornado were barrelling toward us, we're doubt we'd stick around as long as these guys do. But maybe that's just us. This tornado in Borden, Indiana, was part of a series of violent storms from late February to early March 2012 that killed more than 50 people.

On Sept. 11, filmmaker Chris Tangey captured rare footage of a 100-foot-high fire devil tearing through the Australian Outback. The tornado-like whirlwind was about 165 meters at its base and lasted only a few minutes.

While taking an Australian tourist for a boat ride near Ilulissat, Greenland, translator Jens Moller caught this video of a huge chunk of iceberg breaking away from a glacier. The iceberg cascaded into the sea, resulting in a giant wave that nearly overtook the small boat.

A twister with winds of up to 135 mph did some serious damage in Dallas, Texas, on April 3. The terrifying tornado even lifted several 18-wheelers hundreds of feet into the air. Weather experts say it was an anomaly: Vehicles -- especially of that size -- rarely go airborne in a storm. Amazingly, no one was injured.

While trying to film a series of lightning strikes on the opposite shore of the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro, Marko Tomasevic captured shocking footage of a huge jolt much closer to his home. In his YouTube video description, Tomasevic said he "felt it on my body -- like sonic boom from an airplane."

One family caught some of Sandy's destruction on video as the storm blew over three large trees in front of their home. While one tree came close to crushing an SUV, another started a fire at a neighbor's house. Location unknown.
