Blustery winds expected in Northeast
It's about to get a lot colder. Arctic air is already moving through parts of the Northern Plains, bringing snow as well. Blustery winds of up to 35 mph are predicted in the Northeast.

My dog still goes into heat twice a year. So there isn't any more heat than usual that I can see.

Words fighting words as if the answer lies in hurling symbols at one another. Perhaps it would be best if the planet went through its purging cycle to the point that most of sentient life is wiped from the slate and the experiment can begin again . . .

Why America rates number 18 on worldwide scholastic measures. Point it: Man is not the dominating force on the planet. Man depends on the planet, not the other way around. And until you "get that fact" other countries will provide for their people and we'll go the way of the dinosaur with billions of other intellectually impoverished nations.

January 20 2013 at 10:54 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyclimate change is not happening in my back yard but there are parts of the world that global warming has truly effected! yes this natural heating and cooling has been happening for a long time...thats not the concern. It's the rate at which it's occuring along with the increase of greenhouse emissions.
January 20 2013 at 11:20 AM Report abuse Permalink -2 rate up rate down ReplyMuch of the evidence suggests that climate change happens in rapid bursts with some of the most extreme having happened in seconds
January 20 2013 at 12:11 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate downYou have fallen for the misinformation that abounds. Greenhouse emissions are not a problem, and yes this cycling has been happening forever. Note particularly that all the global warming alarmists from the scientific community have steadily refused to debate their views with critics.Could there be a reason?

January 20 2013 at 10:48 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyThe "cold" hard facts are that when Lake Erie froze, there was little snow. When Lake Erie didn't freeze, more snow fell than ever was wanted. Why? The Alberta Clipper. EVERY year these clippers always descend southward out of Canada and when they do, it gets cold with wind chills at -40 or worse. Global warming? You gotta' be kidding me.
Get a life! It is what it is and always will be.....
The great lakes Lake effect is true. However you look at the way the earth turns and it's revolution in the solar system you will see this Alberta Clipper appears to move further south due to the shifting of the jet Stream caused by the cycle of the earths tilting on the outer orbit. This occurs about every 42 years. One side of the polar areas defrosts as the opposite of the polar regions suffers less sun rays and colder weather. Scientist don't mention this as they would be opposed by the governments and the UN that support Climate Change! (another name for Global Warming) .
January 20 2013 at 12:41 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyglobal warming my ass. the world goes thru a cycle. it has always got cold and its always got hot. sometimes it colder than other times and warmer. if man will just leave nature alone it will take care of its self. i have a saying " we are being educated beyond our intelligence ".
January 20 2013 at 10:37 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replylive in buffalo ny; right on the crest of lake erie...it was 63 degrees on wednesday...when you refute scientific proof you sound like one of those ohio hillbillies!!!! why are people so damn ignorant in this country??? p.s lake still hasn't froze over because it was the hottest year on record in 2012!!! I know I'm wasting my time on a knuckle-head like you!!!
January 20 2013 at 11:33 AM Report abuse Permalink -1 rate up rate down ReplyActually it was the hottest year only in the 48 states. The rest of the planet had a relatively cool average temperature. Last time I checked it was "global" warming.
January 20 2013 at 11:57 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate downDidn't you get the official spin, stop using "Global Warming", now use " Climate Change"
January 20 2013 at 10:06 AM Report abuse Permalink +4 rate up rate down ReplyYep, they changed it to "climate change" so they could say cold weather was man-made too.
