Watch: Solo Climber Conquers Annapurna's South Face

The Swiss rock climber achieved his ultimate goal
Failing to successfully climb Annapurna's south face on two separate occasions didn't deter Swiss rock climber Ueli Steck from making a third solo attempt at the trek. With conditions in his favor, he finally achieved his goal of climbing to the 26,545-foot-high summit without ropes or oxygen.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Steck's 28-hour climb is believed to be the first solo climb of Annapurna's south face. Steck's journey was captured in this striking video, with jaw-dropping footage showing the staggering feat from a distant perspective.
