Twenty years ago this week, on Nov. 21, 1992, six tornadoes touched down near Houston, Texas, beginning one of the worst tornado outbreaks in American history. Over the course of three days, 95 confirmed tornadoes struck 13 states, causing over $300 million in damage and leaving 641 people injured and 26 people dead. In contrast, meteorologists believe that 2012 could break the record for fewest tornadoes, thanks to the drought that has plagued much of the country, according to Mother Nature Network.
